Arne Hovmand-Olsen was born in 1919 and lived until 1989. He was a Danish furniture architect. He was born in Egebjerg. When he was 19 years old, he was apprenticed as a cabinetmaker to P. Olsen Sibast. After this he studied at the Technical School of Aarhus, where he trained in furniture design. After this training he started his own design studio. His furniture was mainly exported to the US. Most of his furniture was made in the Mogens Kold Møbelfabrik in Kerteminde.
